WHERE IT BEGAN
More than two decades ago, while working in wastewater grease management in New Zealand, Todd Randinelli encountered an early wool canopy filtration concept.
What he saw was potential.
Natural wool showed promise as a filtration material, but the concept was far from ready for the demands of commercial kitchen environments.
What followed was years of development, engineering and technical refinement to transform that early idea into a filtration system capable of meeting real-world operational and regulatory expectations.
From Concept to Compliance
Bringing natural wool into regulated commercial filtration environments required far more than product development.
It meant overcoming years of engineering, fire performance, testing and compliance challenges to prove that a natural material could meet the demands of one of the most highly regulated operational environments.

Engineering Refinement
Iterative design, transforming raw wool into a high-performance industrial filtration medium through precise mechanical engineering.

Natural Material Innovation
Harnessing the unique molecular structure of wool to capture particulates that synthetic alternatives often fail to manage effectively.

Independent Validation
Rigorous testing across international laboratories to ensure our technology meets the most stringent global safety and efficiency standards.
Certified

Regulatory Recognition
Achieving full compliance within highly regulated environments, proving that natural solutions can lead industrial safety standards.
Used Worldwide in Thousands of Restaurants
Ecofleece and its sister company WoolGuard have been used for almost 20 years in thousands of restaurants worldwide, including across the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Israel, before being introduced to Europe and the UK in 2017.
The Journey in Todd's Own Words
Hear directly from Todd Randinelli as he shares the story behind the original concept, the challenges of development, and the long path to bringing wool-based filtration to market.
“Innovation rarely comes from quick wins. It comes from solving every problem until the idea is proven.”

A Journey Decades in the Making
Expanding Wool Filtration Innovation
The same wool-based engineering principles have also been applied to wider air filtration solutions, supporting cleaner air across commercial and specialist environments.
This broader development reflects the versatility of wool as a high-performance natural filtration medium.
